Helping our local forest land

LCWCpiccap

Kathleen Parenteau, a past president of the La Crescenta Woman’s Club, holds pine seedlings similar to those which will be used to re-establish local forests following the Station Fire.

Members of the public who are interested helping in this effort can sponsor an acre of forest land for a donation of $68. This amount can fund up to 350 trees.

Sponsoring reseeding of the forest has been a program through the forest service since the 1940s.

For more information or to make a donation, contact Ranger Bruce Quintelier, Assistant Resource Officer,  U.S. Forest Service, at Los Angeles River Ranger District, 12371 North Little Tujunga Canyon Road; San Fernando, CA 91342 or phone (818) 899-1900. Those who send a check should note, “Angeles National Forest” in the memo line.
